A tree will soon fall, but it should be allowed to remain as part of the cycle.

In my degree project, I explore experimental preservation in relation to how we treat our built environment. While older structures are protected under conservative fetishism, younger buildings are often demolished or altered without consideration. I position myself at the intersection.

I propose an approach to the ruin as both a bearer of memory and an active resource. It can exist in its current state, but also be built upon, reshaped, and reactivated. In this way, it becomes part of an ongoing process, like a fallen tree in the forest.

In a city where residents rarely have influence over their surroundings, I want to open up the possibility for the space to be claimed, used, and transformed over time. By enabling this, conditions for organic growth are created. Using Enskede gård metro station as a starting point, I aim to transform the site into a living, mutable structure shaped by those who inhabit it.
