“An Un-natural Process of Decay” began in the autumn of 2025, with the demolition of a postmodern multi-storey car park in the satellite district of Marievik in Stockholm. With a workforce of four people and two bulldozers within a timespan of 48 hours, 25% of the structure was gone. Equally fast, the demolition continued and I spent those days with the building, the remains of it and my reflections around its life and value.

My degree project treats the car park as the subject of a personal and architectural exploration about the life and death of a building. As the demolition unfolds, the project shifts from documenting to speculating – asking what values remain after the physical building structure is gone.

With time, the accumulation of material from hand drawings, models and photographs constructs an afterlife of the building, proposing that representation and iteration become a site of continued existence where even demolished architecture can persist and matter.
