My degree project begins with a door I have never opened. It belongs to my grandparents’ first home in Kerkuk, Kurdistan. A house I will one day inherit, yet whose interior remains unknown to me. To approach this unknown home, I turn my attention to what is accessible—a photograph of the door.

By studying selected fragments of the image and transforming them into models, these fragments become physical objects. The project is about understanding and bringing the discovered fragments to light. Its main focus is to develop an alternative language that conveys the hidden layers of the image—cultural traces and the life unfolding around the door. This door is not merely a boundary, but a place where different narratives meet and take shape.
