For my degree project, I’ve been investigating how people with dementia experience contributing to a collaborative art project, and the best way an artistic workshop for the target group can be organised. Simultaneously, I’ve looked at how to lift the stigma around dementia, and let more expressions be seen.

I’ve done this by having workshops in nursing homes, where people with dementia, their relatives, and the staff have painted their own trees. The trees have been combined into a larger artwork, exhibited during the degree exhibition. In other words, the participants have planted their own forest with the tools of art.
