It began with an accumulation of materials.

During my five years at Konstfack, I’ve collected and saved waste materials from the five different workshops. Wood, metal, textiles, ceramics, glass, stone and wire. At first, my project was about honouring these materials. I began intuitively building with them, refining them by giving them a new context in new objects.

All around me, boxes, containers and baskets emerged from what had been rubbish and remnants over five years’ time. My collection grew larger every day. These empty containers suddenly filled my entire existence. It became clear to me that what had begun as an attempt to honour these materials had instead resulted in empty, unusable vessels to hold my anxiety, my shame.

A helpless attempt to contain my guilt.
