Living alone, yet together. How can single-person households retain their autonomy whilst simultaneously expanding their opportunities for social interaction? This degree project explores how principles from collective living models can be adapted for the homes of individuals living alone, where social interactions create opportunities without compromising autonomy.

A former office building serves as a test case, where the building’s potential and limitations are used to explore new forms of shared functions and social infrastructure. Through studies of various forms of collective living and architectural scenarios, the project aims to create a smaller housing space for autonomy but a larger home for encounters.
