This performance draws upon the artist’s personal ‘ballroom culture’ experiences and bodily memories.
This degree project develops a distinct language through a performance practice and investigates the jewellery discourse, to capture the contradictory, dynamic relationship between people and society.

The performance “The Never-Ending Category: Incompleteness as a Nonverbal Survival Strategy” is structured in three acts; it begins with the rearrangement of objects to create a surreal scene suspended between consciousness and the physical world, moving through the activation of jewellery by performing, and arriving at a personal account of incompleteness as a nonverbal survival strategy.

Using stainless steel wire as metaphorical intervention, the work seeks a perpetual space of becoming, between the complete and incomplete, where the queer body continuously negotiates, transforms and breathes.
