There is a martyr sitting on the street corner where Knez Mihaila and Sremska cross. He has spread a blanket in front of him on the pavement and put his crutches against the wall; he is selling his military medals and Orthodox icons of saints he no longer believes in.
My work revolves around themes such as care, loss and peace. What is it that we as individuals sacrifice for the sake of the collective belief and what is left after the battle is over?
This is dedicated to the mutilated, to the losers and to those who are no longer able.
Materials: Serbian wool yarn, leather, pine, brass, fibreglass and steel.
