It’s October and I’m on my way to the aesthetic clinic that I saw an ad for on Instagram. I’m scrolling through TikTok videos and I’m terrified that the person behind me will see that I’m watching girls getting their injections. I know who the girl in the video is, she was on “Paradise Hotel” last season and is going to be on it again this year.

In the waiting room, I overhear a mother and daughter discussing various procedures.
Once inside the consultation, the female doctor begins by saying that I am beautiful, only to then recommend a different procedure than the one I came in for.

In my degree project “Desired Paths”, I explore contemporary beauty ideals in relation to social media and its branches.
