As more people live in smaller spaces, the home has had to accommodate an increasing number of functions within limited areas. Bedrooms, living rooms, and workspaces often coexist in the same room, placing new demands on how objects are designed and integrated.

At the same time, the Swedish Public Health Agency emphasises the importance of regular physical activity, including muscle-strengthening exercises, to maintain bodily function and reduce the risk of injury over time. Simple forms of strength and mobility training at home therefore become not only a complement to, but a prerequisite for long-term health.

This degree project takes its starting point from this type of basic training in the home. Many exercise products are characterised by an expression and scale associated with gym environments, making them difficult to integrate into everyday living spaces. By using the wall bars as a point of departure, the project explores how a piece of exercise equipment can be reinterpreted to better fit contemporary homes. The aim is to create a compact, wall-mounted solution that enables everyday training without visually dominating the space.
