Stockholm City invests in swimming spots through movable dipping piers. These enable spontaneous encounters with water but what would happen if we prolonged and deepened the experience.

This degree project proposes a floating sauna as a complement to the dipping piers. This sauna does not seek to dominate the place, but to blend with it. It lays itself lightly on the water surface, as a pause rather than an imprint. It is a movable object that enables presence, softening the boundary between body and city.

Combining the accessibility of the dipping piers with the contemplative nature of the sauna, the project studies how design can deepen our relationship with water in the city, and with ourselves.
