In my fascination with the everyday spaces of the city, I have chosen to work with pieces of architecture that must be discovered. Every space that constitutes the city carries a story of value. Through a process of searching, I have chosen to work with a number of specific sites that, in their quiet language, have stirred my curiosity.
I have visited the sites, traced their histories, interpreted drawings and photographs, and searched for the particular details that make them distinctly their own. These stories have given rise to ideas for new spaces that explore what it takes to create a piece architecture rooted in its context, both physically and socially.
Through prototypes, models and drawings, I want my spatial proposals to form parts of a narrative written with familiar forms and figures, creating architecture that is not immediately apparent, but one that invites further excavation.
