It revolves around an uncertain self-image, where I move between wanting to become more, become less, and trying to understand what \u2018I\u2019 am. Each adjustment becomes a way of managing the friction between who I experience myself to be and the one who is more easily accepted.<\/p>\n<p>Through the process, I approach the body as something that can be broken down and reshaped. In this, a tension arises between control and dissolution, where the search for a fixed identity constantly slips away.<\/p>\n<p>The mirror is both my friend and my enemy, a place where a distorted self-image takes form. In the mirror, a space emerges for obsession and worship, hatred and love. The mirrors have skeletons, claws and teeth. They are a Rorschach test. They are people and identities.<\/p>\n<p>It would be so easy to give up my humanity.<br \/>\nTo become a thing among things.<br \/>\nTo escape carrying the consequences of a heart that beats too hard or too little.<br \/>\nTo escape the responsibility that comes with being alive.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This work originates from an endless cycle of trying to reach the next version of myself, an almost religious self-obsession.
