\u201cGula huset\u201d, located in the suburb of S\u00f6dert\u00f6rn, is a former worker\u2019s dwelling that today functions as a live-work unit but has lost its defined role. A home is understood here as an intersection of dwelling, studio and nature, where ecological and biophilic living, working, and playing coexist. Situated within a landscape marked by cultural heritage, decay and ecological regeneration, the building holds both historic value and unrealised spatial potential.<\/p>\n
How can \u201cGula huset\u201d be reactivated as a live-work unit through ecological and biophilic maintenance systems?<\/p>\n
In this degree project, I propose a transformation of functions and additions, and the legacy of \u201cGula huset\u201d, through an approach based on addition rather than replacement. The building is understood as a structure that evolves through use, where new spatial layers support living, working and cultivation, with the workshop as the first intervention.
