My degree project begins with a door I have never opened. It belongs to my grandparents\u2019 first home in Kerkuk, Kurdistan. A house I will one day inherit, yet whose interior remains unknown to me. To approach this unknown home, I turn my attention to what is accessible\u2014a photograph of the door.<\/p>\n
By studying selected fragments of the image and transforming them into models, these fragments become physical objects. The project is about understanding and bringing the discovered fragments to light. Its main focus is to develop an alternative language that conveys the hidden layers of the image\u2014cultural traces and the life unfolding around the door.
