This degree project explores the concept of \u2018in-betweenness\u2019 and what it means to grow up between different cultural identities. <\/p>\n
During the summer of 2025, I travelled to Iran to study the Persian culture I was raised with, before returning to Sweden to contrast it with the country I grew up in.<\/p>\n
After four days in the capital city Tehran, Israel began attacks on Iran and the situation quickly escalated into what later came to be known as the 12-Day War.<\/p>\n
As a result, the project took an unexpected turn. Questions of displacement, cultural heritage, and the current global political climate suddenly became central to the study.<\/p>\n
These events brought me closer to the core of why \u2018in-betweenness\u2019 exists; the experience of being forced to leave one’s home, culture, or identity in order to adapt to a new one.
